New Water Safety Display

This month we were lucky enough to be joined by Gwyn and Kim and from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service who delivered a fantastic Water Safety training session to our staff and Rangers. This session included:

Float to Live
The Water Safety Code
Water Safety Signage
What To Do In An Emergency
Coastal Water Safety
Inland Water Safety

This training allows our Rangers to stay up to date with Water Safety education and deliver the most vital and informed messages to our visitors on an incredibly important topic- one which couldn’t be more crucial than it is at the moment, following the tragic and unnecessary loss of life over the May half term in England alone.

In line with this, we are excited to introduce our new Water Safety display. This fully interactive display supports our team in delivering safety messages centred around inland water safety, including waterfalls, plunge pools, stepping stones and weirs as well as the importance of never jumping in after an animal and the differences between a buoyancy aid and a lifejacket. With Playmobil characters (people, dogs, kayaks etc.) our Rangers are able to educate our visitors using hands-on, interactive storytelling which allows children and young people to be completely immersed in the learning.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to North Wales Fire and Rescue Service for their support with this new development as well as Piranha Audio Visual for the installation.
